Community Development Services (CDS) offers business services in the County of Lake, City of Clearlake, and the City of Lakeport. These services include: Financial Assistance: determine project feasibility and costs’ Analyze past financial performance; Analyze pricing, cost of goods sold, expenses and trends; Analyze your future plans (i.e. expansion, relocation, new markets, etc.); Analyze future needs; Locate potential loan funds; Package and present loan requests (banks, private of government loan programs); Monitor your progress to help ensure you reach your goals. Site Location Assistance: Locate potential sites to meet your needs; Coordinate pre-development meetings. Zoning and Permit Assistance: Determine zoning on chosen land/building; Determine cost and timeline for approval Fill out permit application forms; Act as a liaison with government departments and agencies. Marketing: Identify your market; determine the best use of advertising dollars; Design eye catching advertising literature, including spot ads, brochures, fliers, etc. Employees: Find qualified employees; Get financial assistance for training new employees. These services are provided to new and existing businesses. In cooperation with the Lake County Department of Social Services, DCS also offers micro enterprise training targeted to CalWORKS recipients.
